Guide to Retirement Living | ERS

For the Mind, Body and Spirit

At Episcopal Church Home (ECH) you will find a community filled with people who have a real sense of security about their future. It’s also a warm and inviting place to live where new friends become best friends and the staff love what they do - and it shows.

Our entire reason for being here is to provide a place where you can enjoy your highest quality of life possible in a safe, fun, and enriching environment no matter what lifestyle you choose or what level of assistance you might need.

We are a faith-based community with over a century of experience and we welcome residents from all religious or spiritual beliefs. Our mission is “to enhance the physical, emotional and spiritual life experience of adults as they age,” and our reputation is for quality care and services provided by compassionate and professional staff dedicated to the health and wellness of our residents. And as a not-for-profit, we are able to reinvest resources back into the community rather than pay investment returns and dividends to owners and shareholders.

Our 22-acre campus nestled off Westport Road and a short walk to Westport Village includes the popular Dudley Square with its tree-lined streets and spacious patio homes. The words that often come to mind from our residents and their families visiting ECH include descriptions like “friendly, homey, vibrant, and spacious,” and throughout all our lifestyle neighborhoods you will find park-like outdoor spaces complete with birds, bunnies, turtles, and even a playground for the grandkids. Our residents and their families enjoy our restaurant – style dining room or stopping by the Bishop’s Bistro for sandwiches, soup, salad or a soft ice cream cone. There’s a gift shop, a beauty / barber shop and on the weekend you will find many of our residents at St. Luke’s Chapel right on campus. Our friends from local synagogues also provide periodic services, Shabbos and High Holy Day services, and visits to our residents.

Quality Healthcare - Where experience and compassion come together.

Every single day our compassionate clinical staff lives up to our century-old reputation for providing the finest quality personal care and nursing care that has earned us numerous 5-star ratings.

At Episcopal Church Home, we provide a sense of purpose, improve quality of life and lengthen independence. We offer six levels of lifestyles and care including independent living, personal care, personal care memory care, 24-hour skilled nursing memory care, long term skilled nursing care, and rehab. Our current residents enjoy priority admission for all our neighborhoods and services on campus.

Affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, department of Family and Geriatrics Medicine, Episcopal Church Home maintains one of the most admired inspection records in the state of Kentucky. We are committed to promoting all aspects of wellness - physical, emotional, social, intellectual, vocational and spiritual — at every stage of life.

Your Future is Secure

One way we demonstrate our mission to serve older adults is in our promise that if your financial situation or health care needs change you'll still have a home here, even if you outlive your retirement savings. That includes all of our care levels. Not all retirement communities can promise that and it's a pledge we have kept for over a century.

Come See for Yourself

We invite you to come visit our 22-acre campus, and see what over a century of experience with older adult services looks like.

Throughout the campus you will see that we focus on the belief that our residents are not just living in our buildings, but rather we are working in their homes.

Dudley Square Patio Homes for independent living

The neighborhood values and lifestyle you grew up with are alive and well at Dudley Square. It’s a place where new friends become best friends and neighbors look out for each. And you will be comfortable and secure in your spacious home that includes an emergency call system, attached garage, maintenance, landscaping, and full use of the social and wellness activities, dining options, and health services just steps away on the same campus.

Woodcock Licensed Personal Care

If you need a helping hand or some assistance on a regular basis to ensure you stay as independent and active as possible, our spacious rooms, social activities, restaurant-style dining and incredible staff are all there to meet your individual needs. Our licensed nursing staff and wellness programs are designed to keep you as healthy and active as you can be.

Memory Care Center of Excellence

Dignity, compassion, and quality of life are guiding principles in our four memory care neighborhoods. Each is designed to feel like home including friendly pets, family style kitchens and dining, extensive secure outdoor areas and comfortable living rooms. Our Best Friends™ approach to compassionate care drives our philosophy to provide the best quality of life possible for your loved one and peace of mind for you. And should your loved one need more assistance in the future we have our Marmion neighborhood just down the hall where we provide 24-hour skilled nursing memory care.

Here you will enjoy spacious rooms with private accessible bathtubs and showers, your choice of restaurant-style dining, our Bistro, or room service, and right outside you’ll find landscaped gardens and walking paths along with a playground for the kids.

Clingman Long-term Care and Marmion Long-term memory support

Every single day, our compassionate staff lives up to our century-old reputation for providing the finest quality care. After all, we believe it’s not about residents living in our building; it’s about us working in their home. The families of our residents have a sense of confidence and security knowing that their loved ones are in good hands. Our staff in our long term care neighborhoods and throughout our campus are driven by important caregiver principles including:

  • Respect for all our residents while focusing on their strengths
