The Center for Memory Support and Inclusion (CMSI) is devoted to building a world where individuals living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia—and those who love and care for them—feel safe, understood, and truly welcome.
Under the compassionate leadership of Director Shannon Braun, CMSI walks alongside individuals and their care partners, offering not only vital support and education, but also connection, comfort, and hope. Whether through personalized guidance, connection to resources, engaging programs, or help navigating the transitions that come with memory loss, CMSI is a steady hand and a warm heart in uncertain times.
The Center also uplifts and equips ERS staff and incoming families, helping them embrace the unique rhythms of memory support households with knowledge, empathy, and grace.
In partnership with treasured community organizations like the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Cincinnati Zoo, Civic Garden Center, Contemporary Arts Center, the Cincinnati Ballet, and many others, CMSI brings joy and meaning through creative programs that keep people connected—to their passions, their communities, and each other.
Danny led an adventurous life. He likes to say he was often in the right place at the right time, such as the time he was touring England with a choral group and was spontaneously asked to sing for The Queen or later for The Pope. His dementia diagnosis abruptly ended the couple’s once busy social life, leaving his wife Barb feeling isolated and aimless.
Everything changed when they discovered the Center for Memory Support and Inclusion (CMSI) where they attend programs regularly held throughout the community. Danny has found new friends and a passion for art, while Barb has gained the support of others on the same journey. Now, Danny eagerly asks, “What’s on the calendar for today?” They’ve found a sense of belonging and are amazed that all of the programs are free. Back at home, Danny proudly displays his latest creations on the art gallery they have created.
