Person-Centered Care (PCC) is the common thread running throughout the communities of Episcopal Retirement Services. At Canterbury Court, PCC in action means treating residents with the dignity and respect they deserve. We believe we are working in your home rather than you living in one of our buildings. Staff provide a level of freedom and personal choice not previously practiced in a living environment. That allows you as a resident to approach each day with purpose and meaning – and the result is truly remarkable.
Canterbury Court is more than a community – it’s a lifestyle. Through the cooperative efforts of the Resident Council, there is always a full program of entertainment and recreation to enjoy at Canterbury Court.
Activities range from bingo and birthday parties to card games and worship services. Residents can play pool in the game parlor, chat with friends in the main lounge, garden in the greenhouse or outdoor butterfly garden, and enjoy lively musical entertainment and festive meals in the Canterbury Room.
Canterbury Court’s Butterfly Garden has been recognized with a Certificate of Excellence by The Ohio Lepidopterists, a non-profit organization that promotes interest in butterflies, skippers and moths of Ohio and neighboring states.
Outside the walls of Canterbury Court, residents and staff work together to help others in need across West Carrollton and other nearby communities. Working with places or worship and community groups, Canterbury Court residents volunteer their time and talents to a variety of causes and concerns. Past efforts have been recognized with honors such as the Mayor’s Award for Community Volunteer Service.
From community events to social outings and volunteering opportunities, there’s something to fit everyone’s style and taste at Canterbury Court.
