| In 2000, Bishop Herbert Thompson awarded a grant to Episcopal Retirement Homes to create a fund which could provide financial support to Episcopal clergy members who might not otherwise be able to live in ERH communities. Keeping with ERH's ministry, the organization seeks to grow its Retired Clergy Scholarship fund in order to attract those who would enrich our communities by their presence and to "minister to the ministers" who have given so much during their lives.

“It would be wonderful to have
more of the clergy be able to live at our residences,”
says Lee Carter, former ERH foundation board member.
“ I believe we have an obligation to give
back to individuals who have so willingly given
of themselves, who have chosen professions that
may be less financially rewarding so they can
serve others.” |
