HOUSEKEEPER (PRN)
PRN (on an as-needed basis). The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping function in accordance with the established policies and procedures of ERH.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Day-to-day housekeeping functions such as cleaning, polishing, sanitizing, sweeping, vacuuming, etc., in both resident rooms and common areas of the facility.
• Coordinates housekeeping services with nursing services whenever routine assignments occur in resident living areas or common areas and whenever emergency needs arise.
• Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Reports all accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions or equipment to the supervisor and keeps work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects.
• Assures that established infection control practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures.


Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and general public.
Must be a minimum of (18) years of age.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
Must be able to push, pull and/or lift 75 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 150 pounds) and move equipment, supplies, etc., throughout the work day.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
