Welcome to Episcopal Retirement Homes
At Episcopal Retirement Homes (ERH) we put people first. As a not-for-profit organization, we invest our resources back into our communities and services, rather than paying dividends to investors or private owners. Our focus is on exemplifying our core values, and delivering an unwavering commitment to service for our residents, and all those we serve.
But don't just take our word for it. Our resident and staff satisfaction scores are high, our staff turnover is low, and the Medicare ratings for our care centers are consistently among the best in the industry (www.medicare.gov). As a faith-based, not-for-profit organization, our number one priority is to ensure the people we serve are living well into the future.™
We invite you to explore our website to get a sense of our mission, and to see why our staff and the people we serve are so happy to be a part of our community.

In an article featured in the June issue of the Cincinnati Business Courier, ERH President and CEO, Doug Spitler, was interviewed about the current state of Cincinnati's senior independent-living communities. With a wave of Baby Boomers on the way to retirement, the market should have vast potential...and it will, but not quite yet. At the moment the market is over saturated with the recent influx of new communities like The Barrington and Stratford of Kenwood. The housing collapse has added to the woes, with older people waiting to see if their home value will return before making the decision to move to independent living. ERH's two flagship communities, Deupree House and Marjorie P. Lee, are holding their own, but we all have to learn to compete in this new, over saturated environment. Click here to read the article.
The State Certification Board spent two long days inspecting every aspect of the new Deupree Cottages, and found everything to be ship shape, with absolutely no deficiencies! Very soon, the Deupree Cottages will be fully certified...a milestone we've waited months to reach. We are very proud of our staff for their hard work and dedication to the Cottages and our residents!
Design Environments for Aging 2010 voted the Deupree House the Best in Show for a senior residential community. We are thrilled to be honored, and very proud to share this wonderful news with you! Click here to read more.

The Cottages were also profiled in the Builders Exchange magazine in an article called "Doing Better for Elders." Click here to read more.
